Our Current Projects:

Lundamatwe Secondary School Student Sponsorships

Iringa, Tanzania

This year Project Kesho will support fifty boys to attend secondary school in the Iringa, Tanzania region. All of these boys are orphaned or living in extreme poverty conditions and cannot afford the costs of secondary schooling. The $150 cost of sponsorship for each student will provide for tuition expenses, uniforms and school supplies. We have already sponsored more than 25 of the boys!

Ulonge Primary School Construction Project

Iringa, Tanzania

Project Kesho is working with the Ulonge Primary School in Iringa, Tanzania. This local primary school has classrooms to serve Standards One through Four and will soon complete the Standard Five classroom shown above. The local community and village council are working with our organization to complete this classroom with funding from Project Kesho donors. We have plans to build the Standard Six and Seven classrooms during the spring and summer of 2008, with the help of community members and Project Kesho volunteers. Completing this school will allow many children to have the opportunity to receive an education and be prepared to attend secondary school in the future. It will also directly benefit another local school, Lundamatwe Primary School, by reducing their class sizes.

Little Angels Orphanage and Primary School Support

Mityana, Uganda

Project Kesho is working with a small school and orphanage named Little Angels in Mityana, Uganda. Little Angels is run by a woman named Sarah Kiggundu and is home to approximately 25 orphans. The children live at Little Angels, sleeping in eight beds that they share in two different rooms. One room houses the girls and one room houses the boys. Sarah feeds, nurtures and educates these orphans and coordinates the schooling for an additional 220 neighborhood children who attend Little Angels Primary School. This summer Project Kesho provided mattresses, mosquito nets, school supplies and some food for Little Angels during a visit in August.
